die mannschaft.

*peeks*

hi! :D

so much to say but i am so tired right now i really need to pass out.
it's still kinda early but it just goes to show how fucked up my body is after putting it through hell, otherwise more commonly known as the dreaded final exams.

but 3 more days now, just THREE until everyone embarks on an epic winter holiday vacay! :D
i'm so excited for all my pals who are doing something different from the usual shit we all normally do & hopefully, it'll be a sign of greater things to always come our way ;)

also, i'm so psyched about euro 2012 which is already almost halfway through but better late than never right!
i get so giddy with happiness whenever i catch up on the match highlights and GERMANY is just roaring their way to a hopeful victory :*)

times like these though, i really really miss KL because no one hesitates to stay/wake up at 3am just to head down to the mamak or a bar to watch it on a huge screen together.
i remember watching germany vs argentina at starhill gallery with literally 100 argentina fans and THREE germany fans (not even kidding) including myself & while the argentinian supporters groaned with every goal the germans scored, the three of us would jump up, fist bumped and drink up.
it was just...electrifying :)

i think the pivotal moment when germany first caught my attention was seeing oliver kahn saved a couple of goals in the 2002 world cup in japan/korea - that guy is a legend.
then i saw how germany lost to brazil in the finals without ballack and i was impressed regardless.

10 years later, i am still impressed.
i watch them play on the field and it just blows my mind at how much finesse they have and i could literally just watch mesut oezil (#8), bastian schweinsteiger (j#7) and philip lahm (#16) dribble and pass the ball the whole night and not get bored.
(i tried narrowing the three down to just one but i can't pick so don't make me wtf. it's why i didn't get my jersey printed with one of their last names because i think they're all equally good.)
the three of them are not top scorers of the team but they have provided countless assists and truly, i think that that matters more because all the navigation and strategic thinking is what gets the ball to the goal scorer and goal scorer just needs to kick it in, also undoubtedly a difficult task albeit a tad easier to me.
i always think that top goal scorers like muller and klose just happens to be in the right place at the right time so that all they need to do is kick the ball in (and get all the glory after) - which can also be argued for, that it takes skills to be in sync with the rest of your team.

i don't speak football; i don't know much about tactics, defence and offence but if there's one word to describe how the entire squad plays, i'd say it's elegant - they make it look so effortlessly easy and flawless.
speaking of, 2 out of my 3 fav players are in the dream team so i guess i do have an eye for skills and all that jazz, if i might say so myself ;)

germany, home jersey :)

so come on germany, "take it from game to game, to the big aim."

x

above is one of the top reasons why i'm stereotypically not a girl wtf preferring to catch up with the asian games, commonwealth games, the olympics, world cup, euro, champions league etc (somehow the EPL has lost all its appeal to me when jose mourinho stopped managing chelsea).
i get very into it and have on occasions, got a little teary wtf from a tad too much happiness when the team i'm rooting for wins, emotions that have never been unleashed before watching a anything else wtf.
even hearing the malaysian national anthem playing when a national athlete (josian ng!) is on the podium makes my heart ache with pride :*)

ok abrupt end ah i sleepy wtf.
